Debra and Guiam had their wedding over in Singapore before coming over to celebrate their marriage with all their friends and family in the UK! They chose to have a late afternoon celebratory ceremony at 5:20pm in January! With it being dark outside the soft warm beam lighting and floor upward lights in the barn along with candles made the atmosphere very romantic.
They hired a triangle wooden frame decorated with florals and greenery from Emma Jane Events, this was for the end of the aisle which was then placed behind their seats for the wedding breakfast which framed them in the room full of their guests. They also hired Emma Janes Candles to help create the romantic atmosphere.
Their guests gathered downstairs to enjoy drinks and watch a slideshow of their Singapore wedding whilst enjoying a selection of canapés.
Canapés
Thai Fishcakes, Sweet Chilli Sauce
Blinis with Smoked Salmon & Crème Fraiche
Moroccan Cauliflower Bites with Harissa Mayo
They were very lucky with the weather for January and were able to get some lovely photos taken down by the lake with their photographer Steve Hillman and their videographer Wayne Connelly from Green Biscuits Studios. With a slight frost in the air, Windermere lake was still and the sun was beginning to set. What a beautiful time for photos!
By 6pm it was time for the guests to be seated in the barn ready for the Wedding Breakfast. Debra and Guiam decided to have a speech between each course. We would advise having speeches before Starters, after Mains or after Desserts so there is no risk of over cooking the Main Course.
Wedding Breakfast
Starters
Morecambe Bay Potted Shrimps, Fresh Lemon, Toasted Sourdough
Main Course
Rump of Lamb, Dauphinoise Potato, Minted Pea Puree, Grilled Asparagus, Rich Lamb Jus
or
Pan Fried seat Trout, Warm Tartare Sauce, Dill and Lemon Potato Cake, Buttered Spinach
Dessert
Debra and Guiam had their wedding cake created by Bramble and Wild which they cut after their main course and then had us cut and serve it as their dessert with jugs of cream and fresh berries! What a lovely way to share the wedding cake with all their guests!
If this is something you are interested in we would recommend having the cake cutting before the wedding breakfast to give the kitchen enough time to cut and plate it up.
After the wedding breakfast and all the beautiful speeches guests enjoyed some tea and coffee while Debra went to change into a beautiful red dress ready for their first dance!
Thank you for having us be apart of your day Debra and Guiam! Congratulations from All the Team at Karen Rhodes!
