The property dates back to 1650 and is set within fifteen acres of open fields, woods, streams and ponds. It is surrounded by breathtaking views of the fells. The Hayloft, Cart Shed and Milking Parlour offer a beautiful setting for couples looking to tie the knot. It is also ideal if you are looking to host special events such as birthday parties, christenings, anniversaries and baby showers.
The Rustic Cart Shed
The cart shed, with its fully glazed gable end and interrupted views looking due south down the garden towards Buttermere and Haystacks, is the perfect room to hold your wedding ceremony or drinks reception and canapes. With its own bar and huge sandstone fireplace where a welcoming fire roars on colder days, together with stunning views and photographic opportunities all year round, it is also ideal for small intimate weddings.
Wedding Receptions
The wedding receptions are held in The Hayloft of an original Lakeland barn which has been restored to the highest standards with traditional materials. Bright and airy with a graceful combination of rustic chic and modern facilities the oak beams are offset by the natural exposed stone walls.
The Hayloft can cater for up to 130 people with the added benefit of having its own professional kitchen. This stunning blank canvas allows you to put your style and mark on your special day.
Our beautiful hayloft is extremely versatile and seating and tables can be arranged in lots of different ways for your event. We have a drawing pack with a variety of scaled sample layouts to help you visualise and plan your room for your special day.
New House Farm, Lorton, has accommodation for up to 10 guests in 5 bedrooms, each with stunning views. They can also accommodate a further 16 guests at Scale Hill cottages nearby.
